Coastal Culture for Creative Lynx

23.04.2008

Creative Lynx have been dipping their toes in the waters of the Yorkshire coast for the redesign of a new website and branding for the newly formed Scarborough Museums Trust.

The Trust was formed in 2007 as a charitable body to manage the Rotunda Museum, The William Smith Museum of Geology, Scarborough Art Gallery and Scarborough Collections. Creative Lynx were appointed in late 2007 to redesign the existing websites and merge them into one to provide a consistent style and feel to the suite which can be seen at www.scarboroughmuseumstrust.co.uk

Scarborough is well known as the 'Dinosaur Coast' for it's proliferation of fossils which have been discovered along the coastline, many of which can be seen housed within the museums. The Rotunda Museum, in the process of being reinstated as a dedicated geology museum has been closed for the £4.6m refurbishment and will be reopening later this year.

The project is the latest to be developed by Creative Lynx's specialist Culture, Media and Sport division which has worked with clients such as Cosgrove Hall Films, Culture Northwest, Manchester City Art Galleries, the Professional Footballers Association and the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Shirlie Stone, Head of Business Development of Scarborough Museums Trust commented It's been an important and exciting period of change for the museums in Scarborough and so we needed a site that reflected our new vision and modern approach which I'm confident Creative Lynx have achieved for us. We're all really pleased with not only the visual style but the functionality and content management system we've had built.

Speaking of the site, David Hunt, Director of E-Communications at Creative Lynx said As our specialist teams grow it's fantastic for us to get involved in a wider range of projects. We work internationally, nationally and regionally but it's great that we can work on a more local level in a different region. We've really enjoyed working with the Scarborough team and getting this first phase of the site off the ground.

Further staged developments have been planned for later this year.
